The ten Beacon Partnership Projects for England were established by The NSMC and the Department of Health in 2009. Their purpose was to demonstrate and showcase best practice in partnership working for social marketing, in order to improve public health outcomes. The ten projects included programmes to reduce inappopriate use of Accident & Emergency departments, cut rates of smoking and obesity and increase levels of breastfeeding.

Key Concept

'All projects had to include two or more key parties and were required to address one or more public health priority within their region.'

This booklet outlines the work of the ten Beacon Parternship Projects established by the NSMC to demonstrate best practice in partnership working for social marketing.
